If you want to be able to actually use the RF ports or send messages onto the amateur radio packet network, then you'll need to register with us.
If you are a licensed Amateur Radio operator and want to use FWARig's system to access its RF ports and/or send packet radio messages, then you will need to register your callsign and a password with us.
We are required by amateur radio rules to limit who can be allowed to use the radio ports and send messages onto the amateur radio packet network. The rules and regulations FWARig must follow are spelled out in the Part 97 rules of the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The FCC forbids individuals that do not possess an Amateur Radio License from transmitting or causing a radio to transmit on the frequencies allocated to the Amateur Radio Service. The privileges this form is requesting, if granted, would enable someone to use all the RF ports on the system. Thus we at FWARig can only grant these permissions to licensed Amateur Radio Operators.
